I have a rogue alpaca that has started attacking and charging people. He recently attacked two people in a paddock and knocked one person over. He has taken to rearing up like a horse. The animal has been isolated in a small paddock (5 acres). A vet has advised me to euthanase the animal but said it would be more humane to have the animal shot rather than use lethal injections. I am looking for a good shot to euthanse the alpaca in a humane and efficient way.
So far, I have had nine applicants. So, in order to find the right person, I am asking all applicants to answer four questions:
1. Are you a member of the conservation and wildlife management group?
2. What percentage of your kills are single shot?
3. What steps would you take if your first shot is not a clean kill?
4. Do you have a use for the carcass (to butcher or for taxidermy or something else)?
I don’t expect long answers. I will choose one person based on answers received by Monday 2 May 2022.
Please also nominate a date and time when you would like to do the job – pretty much any time/day works for me, between now and 23 May 2022.
