Retired persons living south of the river required for regular seasonal avian pest culling on a Karagullen fruit orchard during daylight hours.
Operatives to visit two to three times a week between Monday and Saturday, for culling Lorikeets on a rotation basis during the fruiting season being October – February inclusive.
Firearms required are strictly 12 gauge; break open field type choked shotgun; using 6 shot ammunition; one firearm per Operative.
Culling patrol times required usually 0600-1000 however less occasionally 1500-1800 as well.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate and provide:
> understanding the importance of target species identification
> capacity to provide & carry electronic mapping of the area
> provide proper footwear and comprehensive safety equipment
> physical ability to safely operate a quad bike
> read and understand an induction process
> adhere to set rules for engaging targets and discharging of firearms
Training and induction will be provided onsite upon commencement, and Operatives will be required to sign in a log upon each visit.
