Our vineyard is within an animal proofed fenced area of approximately 5 acres. Whilst we have endeavoured to keep animals out with electric fencing, unfortunately this has not been completely successful with continual damage to our vines. We therefore feel that additional steps now need to be taken to address the problem

I have applied for and received a Property Protection Permit to allow shooting of both Wallaby and Possum which can be made available upon request. It is the possum that is causing the most problems for our vines.

The actual area that appears to be the habitat of the offending animals is within central bush type block of approximately 3 hectares. This can be easily identified on a google map.

Our vines are now approaching early bud production which appears to be the main attraction for the possums. Wallabies have not been much of a problem to date.
